3% cost of living pay increase announced

4th December 2019

To: All Mandate Members Dunnes Stores

From:  Gerry Light, Assistant General Secretary

It appears that Dunnes management have today started to inform staff of a 3% cost of living pay increase to be backdated to October 2019.

As you are aware your union wrote to the company on the 25th of November calling on the company to provide a fair cost of living increase short of addressing all parts of our 2019 Pay and Benefits claim.  Dunnes Stores – Sandra Buckley 251119

While the concession of the cost of living increase is welcome at this time there can be no doubt that it is fully deserved. It is the least management should do to compensate its hard working employees for their part in maintaining Dunnes as the nation’s leading retailer. We know that there are less staff than ever before in stores and you are under pressure to do more and more.

The payment of the cost of living increase does not go near to satisfying our 2019 Pay and Benefits claim.  As you know the 2019 Pay and Benefits claim includes a pay scale starting at the living wage, increases to annual leave, fair allocation of additional hours, fairer scheduling, more full time jobs and most importantly the right to be fully represented by your union.

The majority of members in Dunnes have now signed in support of the claim calling on their employer to engage with their Union to address it.  We will continue to campaign together to achieve it.  If you have not yet signed to support the 2019 claim you can do by clicking below. The more support we get the more likely it is we will achieve improvements to terms and conditions of employment, so click and sign today.

Make sure to inform all colleagues about the claim and encourage any non-members to join Mandate at www.joinmandate.ie
