On behalf of Mandate Trade Union and our members employed in Dunnes Stores, I am writing to formally present the 2025 Pay and Benefits Claim, as overwhelmingly endorsed by our members in this year’s workers’ survey.
This claim reflects the continued efforts of Dunnes workers to secure fairer pay and improved working conditions. It has been developed through direct engagement with members nationwide and is shaped by the realities they face both inside and outside the workplace.
Our members priorities for 2025 are clear and focused and on their behalf we are seeking:
1. A 10% Pay Increase for All Staff
2. Improved Sick Pay – 8 weeks Fully Paid
3. Retention of the Staff Discount upon Retirement
4. Introduction of Paid Maternity and Paternity Leave
Mandate believes that these proposals are both fair and achievable. They also reflect emerging standards across the Retail Sector, where several of your competitors have already taken steps to enhance sick pay and introduce paid family leave. As one of Ireland’s largest and most successful retailers, our members believe that Dunnes Stores should now take similar proactive measures to meet the expectations of your employees.
Our members have shown unwavering commitment and dedication to Dunnes Stores, particularly in recent years as they manage the ongoing challenges posed by the rising cost of living. This claim is about recognising that contribution and ensuring all Dunnes workers share in the success they help to deliver.
We urge Dunnes Stores to give these matters the urgent attention they deserve. As always Mandate Trade Union is available at your earliest convenience to meet with company representatives to discuss this claim in detail.
Yours sincerely
For Mandate Trade Union
