I am writing on behalf of our members in Dunnes Stores following our correspondence dated 24th of September 2025 in which we outlined the details of the 2025 Pay & Benefits Claim, as endorsed overwhelmingly by workers through this year’s national survey.
To date, we have received no response or acknowledgement from the Company in relation to this claim.
For absolute clarity, the claim as directed by Dunnes workers is as follows:
1. A 10% Pay Increase for All Staff
2. Improved Sick Pay – 8 weeks Fully Paid
3. Retention of the Staff Discount upon Retirement
4. Introduction of Paid Maternity and Paternity Leave
The absence of any update or engagement from Dunnes Stores on these matters is causing considerable uncertainty and frustration among staff. As we approach the busiest and most demanding period of the year, it is especially disappointing that workers have been left without clarity on issues that affect their income, security, and family responsibilities.
Christmas is a time when Dunnes workers consistently go above and beyond to meet the needs of the business and your customers. At the very least, they expect their employer to acknowledge their claim and outline a pathway for meaningful improvements to their terms and conditions. The ongoing silence from the Company is undermining morale at a time when staff are already under significant pressure.
Our members want to see meaningful progress on their priorities, particularly as many of your competitors have already advanced in areas such as enhanced sick pay and paid maternity and paternity leave. Dunnes workers believe strongly that their employer should now show similar leadership.
In light of the above, we are requesting an urgent response from the Company. As always, we are available to meet with the Company to discuss the way forward in a constructive and mutually beneficial manner.
We look forward to your prompt reply.
Yours sincerely
